Virgin Media has picked up Sesame Street (seasons 36 to 43) for its UK-based on-demand XL TV subscribers and online viewers across Virgin TV Anywhere.

In support of the launch, set to air ahead of UK summer holidays, Bert and Ernie have been spotted at Heathrow Airport making character appearances.

The latest five seasons of the iconic show for kids and families include celebrity spots by Emma Stone, Ricky Gervais, Bruno Mars and David Beckham, among others.

Virgin Media’s cable network, which is part of Liberty Global, now provides ultrafast broadband to more than half of all UK homes. The company was also the first to bring 3D on demand and HD TV to millions of British homes. Liberty Global and Virgin Media combined currently reach 25 million customers across 14 countries.
