Teen actress Olivia Holt (Disney XD’s Kickin’ It) and NBA star Kyrie Irving of the Cleveland Cavaliers have joined gaming startup PlayMG to help shape the creative direction around the company’s youth-based PlayMG Android gaming system.
In their unique new role with PlayMG, the duo will assist with device and case design, app recommendations, marketing campaigns, social media, and beginning this summer both stars will release a weekly update of their favorite apps and provide tips and tricks for fans.
PlayMG, which is touted as the first-ever dedicated pocketable wi-fi app gaming system exclusively for Android and young people, launched less than a year ago and features more than 6,000 kids app games playable on the system’s 4-inch touch screen.
Available at Amazon.com and PlayMG.com for US$179.99 and preloaded with 11 games and 4GB of built-in memory, the system is targeted at kids who are not old enough to have their own smart phones, but still want to experience portable app play. It also includes “Digital Wallet” and “Remote Trust” notification functions.
