With the influx of new movies and shows hitting Netflix in the past number of weeks – and upticks in kids content viewing occurring in the summer months – the Internet streaming service has now launched a Families page designed to help parents better find entertainment options.

The new Netflix Families is launching on the heels of a recent survey conducted by Ipsos Reid on behalf of Netflix Canada, which found that 54% of Canadian parents with kids under 12 wish it were easier to entertainment their family during the summer months.

The new destination is designed to help parents find content through trusted recommendations of popular family TV shows and movies, information on the best ways to stream, and videos about how other families use Netflix. Accessible from any computer or tablet, the Families page is also available for both members and non-members.

The ‘Are We There Yet’ list, for instance, curates TV shows and movies ideal for watching on tablets in the airport, and the ‘TV for Curious Kids’ lists feature more educational shows.

Last year, Netflix members clocked more than two billion total hours of kids content.
