German media and brand management company m4e AG grew its sales by 16.8% last year to the tune of US$25 million, largely thanks to the success of the Mia and me brand.

Last year, m4e developed and implemented an extensive global marketing strategy for  Mia and me, which debuted globally last spring 2012 and premiered in Germany last August on KiKA. The Rainbow/m4e co-production’s first season has been sold to 70 broadcasters worldwide, and 26 new episodes of season two are currently in production for a 2014/spring 2015 delivery. Recently, the series has been at the center of numerous global licensing deals.

The brand is a byproduct of the company’s strategy to invest more into IP rights development. The company says it will continue to further extend its rights reach throughout this year and next. Among the new m4e projects on the go are the new CGI series Tip the Mouse as well as the animated series Atchoo. A feature film based on Mia and me is also in the works.
