With Doc’s help, Disney Junior extends mobile offerings

Disney is amplifying its preschool mobile offerings with a new Doc McStuffins iOS app, as well as new additions to the Disney Junior Appisode lineup.

Based on last year’s number-one cable TV series for preschoolers, Doc McStuffins: Time For Your Check Up! allows players to join Doc at her clinic, where they diagnose and cure patients based on a number of different ailments. The app features open-ended activity that makes the device’s camera turn into a virtual stethoscope, octoscope and X-Ray machine.

Doc McStuffins can also expect to get the Disney Appisode treatment in the coming months. Last month, The House of Mouse expanded its Disney Junior Appisodes iOS app following the success of the TV-integrated Mickey Mouse Clubhouse Road Rally Appisode, which first debuted last year.

The Disney Junior Appisode app lets kids interact with various activities embedded into episodes of select Disney Junior shows.  The new Mickey Mouse Clubhouse – Mickey and Donald Have a Farm Appisode and the Jake and the Never Land Pirates Appisode are now available for US$4.99, and episodes of Doc Mc Stuffins, Sofia the First and Jake and the Never Land Pirates are expected to follow suit in the coming months.
