With a record-breaking 1.5 billion YouTube views, South Korean pop star Psy’s “Gangnam Style” has made monster waves in the viral video world since launching last year. And it looks like Saban Brands will keep the flames burning with a brand-new series called Gangnam Girls.

The music- and fashion-driven animated series tells stories centered on five teenage girls who have chosen to become magical superheroes.

Distribution and consumer products plans for Gangnam Girls are in early development, with more details expected to be announced later this year.
