Boy-skewing Disney XD has given the green light to Mighty Med, a new live-action comedy series that takes a page from the world of superhero comics.

The series from It’s A Laugh Productions features Disney stars Bradley Steven Perry (Good Luck Charlie) as Kaz and Jake Short (A.N.T. Farm) as Oliver. They play two comic book fanboys who work at Mighty Med, a hospital for super heroes.

The pilot was created and written by Jim Bernstein (Phineas and Ferb) and Andy Schwartz (Scrubs) and was directed by Eric Dean Seaton (Kickin’ It).

Mighty Med will begin production in July before premiering on Disney XD this fall.
