Rock and Roll all day? KISS and Hello Kitty unite in TV series

The unlikely yet three-year strong relationship between rock band KISS and lifestyle brand Hello Kitty is now heading to the small screen, as The Hub has optioned the rights to KISS Hello Kitty (working title) based on the KISS x Hello Kitty product line.

The unlikely yet three-year strong relationship between rock band KISS and lifestyle brand Hello Kitty is now headed to the small screen, as US net The Hub has optioned the rights to KISS Hello Kitty (working title) based on the KISS x Hello Kitty product line.

KISS, which has made significant strides in creative merchandising, and Hello Kitty first came together in 2010 in Sanrio’s global KISS x Hello Kitty collection of co-branded apparel, toys, electronics, stationery and back-to-school merchandise.

The KISS Hello Kitty series will feature the four KISS x Hello Kitty characters living their rock ‘n’ roll dreams and bringing pink anarchy to every situation they encounter. The animated series is in the initial stages of development with KISS frontman Gene Simmons slated to be one of the executive producers. KISS’ Paul Stanley is also involved in the series’ development.

The toon will be produced by KISS Catalogue and Sanrio.
