Mind Candy appoints chief people officer

Penny Handscomb has joined Mind Candy, the entertainment company behind the kids' virtual world Moshi Monsters, as chief people officer, where she will lead the company's human resources and talent management as it looks to grow its work force by more than 100 people this year.

Penny Handscomb has joined Mind Candy, the entertainment company behind the kids’ virtual world Moshi Monsters, as chief people officer, where she will lead the company’s human resources and talent management as it looks to grow its work force by more than 100 people this year.

Among Handscomb’s first order of business is recruiting talent for roles in London and San Francisco. The company is looking to grow alongside the continued momentum for its flagship Moshi Monsters property, which currently reaches 75 million registered users.The company hired more than 100 people in 2012 and is looking to exceed that growth in 2013. In fact, there are currently roughly 90 open roles across all divisions.

Handscomb brings with her more than 20 years of human resources and talent acquisition experience. Prior to Mind Candy, she was ShoeDazzle’s chief talent officer and before that she was the SVP of human resources and training at Provide Commerce.
