Family entertainment content distributor CAKE has signed a global deal for Space Racers, a new preschool series from the creative forces behind Rugrats and Octonauts.

The 50 x 11-minute series, which has tapped NASA as a technical consultant, takes place in the world of Stardust Bay, where young cadets make up a super elite space-bound task force known as the Space Racers. Real space sounds and images will be used in the program.

The series’ creator and executive producer is Richard Schweiger and it is directed by Mark Risley (Rugrats, The Wild Thornberrys). The show’s lead writer is Allan Neuwirth (Octonauts).
