UK-based educational app developer Mindshapes is adding to its offering of kids’ properties having signed a new partnership with the Jim Henson Company to develop Sid the Science Kid and Pajanimals apps.

The products will feature interactive stories, learn and play games, and animated content aimed at preschoolers. Sid the Science Kid’s Slide to the Side Appisode will be available beginning in April following the premiere of the new feature Sid the Science Kid: The Movie on PBS KIDS and its DVD release. The Pajanimals-themed appisode will follow later this year.

Under the deal, Mindshapes will also develop content for new Henson properties that will be announced later this year. Mindshapes is currently used by roughly 300,000 families per month. Its flagship property, Magic Town, launched last June for iOS devices and has been read more than one million times.
