After a 13-year hiatus, the Jurassic Park story will return to the big screen and now, thanks to Hasbro, toy stores worldwide. The toyco has signed on as the global toy licensee for Jurassic Park 4, which will be released in June 2014, and will work with Universal Partnerships & Licensing once again to market and distribute new toys based on the film.

The original Jurassic Park, which will be re-released in 3D this April, launched a three-film franchise that has grossed more than US$1.9 billion at the global box office. With the fourth installment, Hasbro has the rights to develop a wide variety of toys including figures, plush, dolls, play sets, vehicles, role play, games, KRE-O branded building sets and novelty items. Products will hit shelves in summer 2014.

Since 1993, Hasbro has served as the master toy partner for the brand. The most recent franchise instalment, Jurassic Park 3, was released in 2001.

Could be cool, if they actually focus on quality of the toys instead of solely relying on branding to sell. They need to have a lot of articulation and be well designed. In recent years, the quality of toys has diminished severely and the new fresh ideas of inventors have been shunned in favor of cheap same old same old toys with well known characters.

The definitive kids ent resource.
