Miami-based Exim Licensing will serve as the licensing agent for UK-based Platinum Films’ boys-centric series Matt Hatter Chronicles in Latin America, where a consolidated licensing and merchandising rollout is planned for 2014.
Exim will be responsible for signing licensees across multiple categories and implementing a designated retail program and consumer marketing campaign across the region.
Matt Hatter has already sold to Spanish pubcaster RTVE’s Clan TV, Canal Panda in Portugal and Spain, Canada’s Teletoon, Nickelodeon ANZ, Network Ten Australia, TVNZ New Zealand, RTE in Eire, SABC South Africa and JCC Middle East Region.
The Exim licensing portfolio currently includes Ben 10, Hello Kitty, StarWars, Strawberry Shortcake, Pokemon and Power Rangers. Exim’s digital division, Exim Technology, will support the product launch with a digital campaign including mobile-enhancing promotions, social media events, advergaming and augmented reality mobile apps.
The South American L&M program will follow the UK 2013 roll out spearheaded by ITVS GE, which represents the brand across merchandising, publishing, promotional and home entertainment rights in UK, Eire, Australia and New Zealand.
