HarperCollins Children’s Books UK has welcomed Ruth Alltimes as its new publishing director of fiction.

Alltimes, who is currently the publishing director of fiction at Macmillan Children’s Books, will move over to her new position in January 2013 and report to HarperCollins’ fiction and licensed properties director, Rachel Denwood.

Also working alongside publishing director Nick Lake, she will be tasked with expanding the market’s children’s fiction list through new acquisitions and development of existing author properties and series.

In her 12-year publishing career, Alltimes has worked with bestselling talent and brands including Rainbow Magic, Chris Riddell and Alyson Noel.
