Toronto, Canada-based Radical Sheep Productions has optioned the rights to bestselling author Michael Rex’s humorous graphic novel series Fangbone! Third-Grade Barbarian.

The graphic novels from the New Jersey-based author and illustrator will be turned into an animated series aimed at kids ages six to 11.

Fangbone follows the adventures of a nine-year-old barbarian warrior who, with the help of his goofy new school friend Bill, must save his native land, Skullbania, from the villainous Venomous Drool.

Since 1995, Rex has created more than 25 children’s books including the New York Times bestsellers Goodnight Goon and The Runaway Mummy.
