Webkinz gets free iPad app


GANZ - The Webkinz Brand Expands with a Social Game on the iPad

Successful toy/online property Webkinz World from Canada’s Ganz launched free-to-play iPad app Webkinz Friends today in North America.

The new app is meant to foster a co-play experience between parents and kids as they play alongside each other to build their dream Kinzville, the town where all Webkinz pets reside. The new social game was introduced to teens and adults via Facebook  earlier this year. The app now gives younger kids access.

The app is free and does not require the purchase of a Webkinz plush pet to play. But Ganz suggests the gaming experience can be enchanced by registering Webkinz pets in both Webkinz Friends and Webkinz World for virtual prizes, which are transferable between the two digital experiences.
