Breakthrough Entertainment’s digital division has begun production on a series of online games for its upcoming animated series Rocket Monkeys for Teletoon Canada.

The suite of three games – Monkeys vs. Gorillas, Monkey Business and Monkeys on a Mission –will target the series’ six- to 11-year old demographic, and will be available in French and English on teletoon.com.

Monkeys vs. Gorillas will launch in January 2013 in conjunction with the series premiere, with the two other games rolling out during the broadcast season.

The games are produced by Breakthrough with Teletoon Canada, with funding from the Bell Broadcast and New Media Fund and the Show Rocket Fund’s digital stream.

The upcoming animated Rocket Monkeys series features two brothers who carry out a range of important missions to prevent intergalactic calamity – though they end up causing their fair share of disruptions– with the help of their devoted robot friend.

Rocket Monkeys is slated to premiere on Teletoon Canada in January.
