Lego snaps up TMNT construction toy license

Danish toyco Lego and Nickelodeon have expanded their global partnership to include the development of construction toys based on Nick’s new CGI series, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
The first Lego TMNT collection is set to launch in North America and the UK, where the series just scored a berth on ITV channels, in January with a global rollout taking place later in 2013.
Lego TMNT will render the famous butt-kicking quartet as minifigures and in playsets, complete with a series of vehicles.
The new 26 x half hour series airs on Nickelodeon US on Saturdays at 11 a.m. EST and will launch on Nickelodeon UK this month, with CiTV and ITV1 broadcasts to follow in the spring.
