CBeebies has ordered a fourth season of animated preschool series Chuggington from series’ creator Ludorum.

Delivery of the new season’s 26 x 10-minute episodes on the BBC-owned channel will begin from spring 2013 to spring 2014, and CBeebies expects to debut season four from fall 2013.

The deal brings the total number of Chuggington episodes to 118 x 10-minutes plus 46 x four-minute interstitials.

Chuggington currently broadcasts in more than 178 countries in 27 languages and has been a ratings success in the UK, Australia, Germany, Norway, Poland, Russia, Korea Japan and the US.

The series, which will hit emerging markets India, China and Latin America this year and next, also boasts an extensive licensing program. Ludorum recently secured a deal with educational toy designer LeapFrog Enterprises to bring Chuggington to its LeapPad learning tablet.
