JibJab creators launch new multi-platform IP StoryBots

The creators of popular internet brand JibJab, brothers Evan and Gregg Spiridellis, have launched StoryBots, a new multi-platform personalized educational property for kids.

The StoryBots platform aims to make learning more fun for kids ages two to six and features curious and colorful characters featured in personalized eBooks, online videos, activity sheets, and mobile apps.

By using the free iPad app StoryBots Starring You StoryBooks, parents can create personalized, animated eBooks that include their child’s name and face in the stories. Since launching in 2011, the company’s Starring You technology has consistently been a top 10 grossing iPad book app.

StoryBots Starring You Band is a free online video series that lets parents insert their kids directly into music videos. Four free videos are available today with a new video scheduled to be released monthly.

Also launching on is StoryBots ABC Jamboree, a collection of free 26 one-minute music videos designed to help kids recognize the sounds and shapes of the letters of the alphabet. In addition, parents can download and print over 100 free coloring, tracing, mazes and word finds at the site’s StoryBots Activity Center.

Rounding out the launch is the StoryBots Beep & Boop iPhone app, a reward chart system for parents and kids where BEEPs are given for good behavior and BOOPs as reprimands. Since the app was released to the public in March, parents in 89 countries worldwide have given kids 150,000 Beeps and Boops.
