Pete the Cat lands a global licensing program

James Dean, the creator of YouTube sensation and bestselling children’s book series Pete the Cat, has partnered with California-based gift and IP company MerryMakers to launch an exclusive worldwide licensing program based on the “groovy” cat IP.
A retail collection is in the works for the 2013 holiday season targeting kids, teens, tweens and adults.
To date, Harper Collins has published four Pete the Cat kid’s picture books and the series is expected to reach one million copies sold by the end of this year.
In addition, Pete the Cat YouTube videos have currently been viewed more than five million times.
