Nickelodeon and the US National Football League have extended their partnership and will launch season two of their original half-hour animated kids series NFL Rush Zone: Season of the Guardians on NickToons this November.

Nickelodeon and the US National Football League have extended their partnership and will launch season two of their original half-hour animated kids series NFL Rush Zone: Season of the Guardians on NickToons this November.

The 24-episode season is based on the NFL’s virtual world and web portal NFL Rush Zone which launched in 2007 and spawned the animated series Rush Zone: Guardians of the Core. The original series bowed on NickToons US in September 2010.

NFL Rush Zone: Season of the Guardians, aimed at a broad six to 13 demographic and produced by Rollman Entertainment, sees young hero Ish and his friends embark on a quest to protect the league’s 32 teams and the world from a new crop of super villains.

The series features an all-star voice cast including NFL stars such as New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees and Dallas Cowboys Pro Bowl linebacker DeMarcus Ware.

To support the series launch, NickToons and the NFL have created weekly video segments featuring NFL Network analyst and Pro Football Hall of Famer Deion Sanders that will premiere on NickToons following Sunday NFL matchups.

The new episodes will be available on Nicktoons.com and NFLRUSH.com following each episode’s broadcast premiere, and will be promoted on video boards in NFL stadiums.

NFL Rush Zone will be also be available on mobile devices this season featuring exclusive content based on the animated TV series.
