UK-based Channel 5 has snapped up two new series each of popular CG-animated, HIT Entertainment-produced series Angelina Ballerina and Fireman Sam for its Milkshake! preschool block.

Set to air in September, 40 new episodes for series five and six (20 x 12 minutes) of Angelina Ballerina: The Next Steps have been ordered.

The series, which is inspired by the children’s book series by acclaimed author Katharine Holabird, has been a ratings success on Milkshake, drawing 3.3 million viewers so far in 2012.

For Fireman Sam, the channel has snagged 52 episodes of season six and eight (26 x 10 minutes), to air from October, marking the first time Channel 5 will broadcast the new-look CGI series which originally debuted on TV 25 years ago.
