UK-based Union Media has signed on to handle the global distribution rights for Komixx Entertainment’s new stop-frame animated preschool series Toby’s Travelling Circus.

Set to make its debut on Channel 5′s Milkshake! this fall, the 52 x 10-minute series follows the story of a seven year-old boy who also happens to be the ringleader of his own magical travelling circus.

The news comes on the heels of Milkshake! commissioning UK-based Komixx to produce season two of the series before the airing of season one. The second season is expected for broadcast beyond 2013.

Toby’s Travelling Circus is written, created and produced in the UK with Manchester’s MacKinnon & Saunders studios providing the stop-frame animation.

Union Media is also set to explore broadcasting and licensing and merchandising opportunities for the series at this year’s MIP Jr. and MIPCOM.
