Disney/ABC Television Group has appointed Disney executive Peter Seymour to the newly created position of EVP and CFO of Disney/ABC Television Group.
The new position consolidates financial leadership for the entertainment portfolio of Disney/ABC Television Group, including the ABC Television Network, ABC Studios, ABC Owned Station Group, Disney Channel, Disney XD, Disney Junior, Disney Domestic Television, ABC Family, Radio Disney and Hyperion Publishing.
In his new role, Seymour, who was previously EVP of strategy and research for Disney Media Networks since 2008, will report to Disney/ABC Television Group’s president and co-chair of media networks, Anne Sweeney, and continue to oversee strategy development for The Walt Disney Company’s worldwide broadcasting and cable programming businesses, as well as supervise research, customer relationship management, media planning and franchise management.
Seymour initially joined the group in 2005 as SVP and was part of the strategy development team that converted Toon Disney and Jetix channels worldwide into Disney XD, launching Disney Junior, and expanding Disney Channel into multiple international markets.
He was also instrumental in moving ABC, ABC Family and Disney content to digital platforms, including the recent launch of the Watch Disney apps in conjunction with Comcast.
Prior to joining Disney Media Networks, Seymour held a nine-year stint in the strategic planning division of The Walt Disney Company.
