In celebration of its 20th anniversary, MIP Junior is launching a new international pitch competition to find the next big brand in kids content.

The MIPJunior International Pitch for Projects in Development targets TV and digital producers looking to form potential broadcast, digital and licensing partnerships to help take their properties (animation or live-action) to market.

The competition will select projects based on a number of criteria including potential for TV and multi-platform brand extension, originality (storytelling, characters, look, themes), and potential to target international audiences.

Submissions are open to any size of production company and developer, and six finalists will present their projects in a live pitch session during MIP Junior on October 6 in Cannes, France. August 24 is the deadline for submissions.

Included in the winning prize is a one-on-one meeting with a buyer during the main networking event on October 7, editorial coverage in the MIPCOM Daily News, on the MIP Junior website and on MIPBlog plus visibility through the competitions’ partners, free submission to the MIP Junior 2013 Digital Library, and advertising in the MIPTV 2013 Daily News or the MIPTV 2013 Guide.

MIPJunior runs from October 6 to 7 at the Martinez Hotel in Cannes. Additional information about the pitch competition and its jury members can be found here.
