Corus names new VP, head of Nelvana Studio

Toronto, Canada-based Corus Entertainment has named Irene Weibel to the role of VP, head of Nelvana Studio.

Weibel will be responsible for the development and production of all original productions for the company. She will also oversee the studio’s creative direction and will lead the coordination of series development, distribution and consumer products launches.

Weibel, who will be based in LA and Toronto, formerly held the position of VP, international production and development for the studio.
