New York-based CopCorp Licensing has entered into a joint-venture with TK Brand Group to create Knockout Licensing, a new agency looking to represent top brands.

President of CopCorp, Carole Postal, and president of TK Brand Group, Tamra Knepfer, will serve as the new agency’s co-presidents looking to find new opportunities in children’s entertainment and new media.

As its first announced client, Knockout Licensing will take on global licensing for Boo – The World’s Cutest Dog. The real life six-year old Pomeranian dog became a Facebook sensation in 2009 and has since accumulated more than four million fans on the social network.

Products based on Boo already include the Chronicle Books release, Boo: The Life of the World’s Cutest Dog, and its success led to a second book, Little Dog in the Big City, that is set for release this summer along with a 2013 calendar.

Current business being carried out individually by CopCorp and TK will remain unchanged by the JV, while Knockout Licensing aims to compete with larger agencies for top properties and is currently in discussions with domestic licensees, manufacturers and other potential partners regarding licensing or representation overseas.
