Mattel and Classic Media have inked a raft of new consumer products deals for its iconic Masters of the Universe brand.

New licensees powering up include DC Entertainment (comics, graphic novels), New Era Cap (headwear), Skinit (electronic skins and cases), Funko (bobbleheads, Pop! vinyl figures), Icon Heroes (miniature environments, desk accessories), PopFun (glassware, decorative refrigerator magnets), and Mixo (collectible paper figures).

Products will launch at retail this fall in conjunction with the 30th anniversary of the property and the new line will feature updated versions of vintage Masters of the Universe Mattel toys. The line will also be available throughout 2012 on Mattycollector.com and special anniversary celebrations for fans are set for Comic-Con International: San Diego and New York Comic Con.

DC Entertainment will also debut its new six-issue, limited edition comic book series He-Man and the Masters of the Universe at San Diego Comic-Con in July.

The latest deals further expand the list of licensees currently on board as Masters of the Universe partners including Mill Creek (home entertainment), Changes (apparel), and Disguise (costumes).

Mattel’s original Masters of the Universe toy line launched in 1982 and developed a huge cult following along with the original TV series. The IP has since been made into a Warner Bros. movie, another TV series, The New Adventures of He-Man, which launched in 1990, and the most recent TV version (He-Man and the Masters of the Universe) which Cartoon Network premiered in 2002.
