A brand-new series based on characters from hit British comic The Beano is heading into co-production at Scotland’s Red Kite Animations and Australian prodco Sticky Pictures, following the renewal of a partnership with rights owner DC Thomson.

Packaged to run as 52 x 11 minutes or 26 x 24 minutes, Dennis & Gnasher will be delivered in summer 2013.

CBBC and Nine Network have commissioned this latest go-round, with producing efforts from Sueann Smith for Red Kite and Jane Schneider and Stu Connolly for Sticky Pictures.

The deal comes on the heels of a new Beano app, which is now available on the Apple App Store.
