Planning aggressive future growth, L.A.-based MarVista Entertainment, which acquired new capital investment in August 2011, has made a number of hires and promotions.
MarVista welcomes Matt Freeman as VP of production and development. Bringing his experience from previous roles with Scott Rudin Productions and Regent Entertainment, Freeman will report to EVP of production and development Robyn Snyder, and will oversee current independent and network movies, minis and scripted series as well as look for new material and support the development of international co-productions.
Susan Young, who will report directly to MarVista CEO Fernando Szew, also joins the company as CFO and will be responsible for administrative, financial, and risk management operations. She previously held positions with Stryker Biotech and Eastman Kodak Company.
On the sales side, Vanessa Goglio Shapiro has been upped to EVP of sales from SVP worldwide sales and Scott Kirkpatrick joins MarVista as director of international sales reporting to Shapiro. Kirkpatrick, who was most recently VP of international sales at ICAP Media/Moving Pictures Film & TV, will manage sales in the Scandinavia, Australia, New Zealand, Benelux, Israel and Middle East markets.
Also being promoted and reporting to Shapiro is Laura Hoffman who moves from executive director to director of sales and contract administration.
MarVista, which distributes a library of more than 2,000 hours of feature films and TV programming to networks in the US including Disney Channel and ABC Family, most recently launched a licensing program for Radio Rebel, its second movie production for Disney Channel.
