Turner Broadcasting Systems has inked a deal with UAE-based satellite broadcaster YahLive that will see Turner’s Cartoon Network Arabic channel beamed across the Middle East and North Africa regions in HD.

Cartoon Network HD, which now features mostly US-produced content, will be translated into Arabic and adapted to take into account local cultures in the Middle East and North Africa regions. And Turner has stated there are ambitions to put locally produced content on the channel – it’s currently working on putting two Arabic animated series to pilot.
