Leading up to what should be a superhero-inspired summer, US toyco Jakks Pacific has been tapped by Warner Bros. Consumer Products to manufacture, distribute and market a line of novelty, large-scale figures and plush products under its Creative Designs International (CDI) division based on the DC Comics Super Heroes and Super Villains brand.

The line, which will include products featuring characters Batman, Superman, Green Lantern, The Flash, The Joker and Darkseid, will launch this summer coinciding with the July 20 premiere of the feature film The Dark Knight Rises.

The licensing agreement comes on the heels of WBCP’s recent announcement of a worldwide licensing program based on The Dark Knight Rises.
