Zuuka, the company behind the iStoryTime children’s digital book library, has released the first ever digital version of The Smurfs Classic Tales storybooks for iPad, iPhone and iPod touch devices on Apple’s App Store and iBookstore.

The Giant Smurf, the first book in the series and currently available for free, is set the Smurf village during one the hottest seasons on record where Papa Smurf must create a magic fertilizer to save the Smurfs’ crops. Other popular characters in the story include Brainy and Hefty Smurf.

The book features the option to record the reader’s voice for personalized narration, animations and sounds on every page, custom narration (app only), and additional books available through in-app purchase.

The app announcement comes after Zuuka recently launched a new entertainment publishing label called iTalk, which allows mobile characters to repeat what a user says.
