Industry veteran Sal Maniaci is headed back to the Nickelodeon fold as its new SVP of event and original programming.
Based in New York, Maniaci will report to Marjorie Cohn, the president of original programming and development at Nickelodeon/MTVN Kids and Family Group, and will be responsible for overseeing production of Nickelodeon’s franchise events, including the Kids’ Choice Awards, the TeenNick HALO Awards and Nickelodeon’s Worldwide Day of Play.
He will also supervise current series for Nick at Nite’s new slate of family entertainment, including the recently announced telenovela, Reach For A Star.
Maniaci was most recently SVP of development and original programming for TV Land. Prior to an executive stint at The New TNN (now Spike TV), Maniaci was VP of current series at Nickelodeon, where he worked on hit properties Kenan & Kel, The Amanda Show, Figure It Out and the annual Nickelodeon Kids’ Choice Awards. Maniaci originally joined Nickelodeon in 1994.
