BBC/FME launch Aliens Vs Wizards

Russell T Davies, the man who in 2005 resurrected Doctor Who on the BBC after a sixteen-year hiatus, has created (with Phil Ford) a new teen-based, live-action adventure series called Aliens Vs Wizards (26 x 30-minutes).
The series will be produced by BBC Cymru Wales and FME’s Kids & Family Entertainment division. FME will manage worldwide distribution (excluding the UK), plus brand licensing, home entertainment and publishing.
The series follows two 16-year old schoolmates, wizard Tom and science wiz Benny, who must use their skills to save the Earth from aliens who want to steal their magic.
The series, which will be shot in new BBC Cymru Wales studios in Roath Lock, and Cardiff, is commissioned by CBBC controller Damian Kavanagh and will air in fall 2012.
Davies, Bethan Jones and Gina Cronk for the BBC and Bob Higgins and Sander Schwartz for FME are on board as executive producers. Brian Minchin will produce and Phil Ford (The Sarah Jane Adventures, Doctor Who) will co-produce.
