Yowza signs TV deal for Chirp

Toronto, Canada-based animation studio Yowza is collaborating with Canadian publisher OwlKids and CBC Television to develop preschool television series Chirp.
The new series is based on OwlKids’ Chirp magazine brand, which targets three- to six-year-olds and features puzzles and light educational material.
Yowza’s team, led creatively by Dave Thomas, is working closely on the project with the CBC’s head of children’s programming, Kim Wilson. Thomas and Moonray Studios Dan Clark are also planning a broader interactive digital component for the brand with the development of apps and games.
