Totally Amp’d, the first original mobile app series targeting tweens and teens from Shaftesbury and its digital media division Smokebomb Entertainment, will launch globally on January 26 on the Apple App Store as a free download.

The XMG Studio-published 10-appisode series, starring Ashley Leggat (Life with Derek) and Cristine Prosperi (Degrassi: The Next Generation), tells the story of five teenagers brought together to become a pop group sensation. It combines a live-action comedy (10 x six to nine minute) series with interactive, music-based activities.

In each appisode, interactive content can be unlocked that turns iOS devices into music, movie and design studios where kids can create posters, album covers, direct music videos, make remixes and upload their own vocals to original songs.

The first appisode can be viewed here.

Totally Amp’d is directed by Benjamin Weinstein (Life with Derek, Baxter) and written by Karen McClellan (Being Erica) with original music written and composed by Jared Gutstadt, CEO and co-founder of Jingle Punks (The Voice).
