Netflix has secured more content ahead of its planned service launch in the UK and Ireland in early 2012.

A new deal with BBC Worldwide will allow Netflix members in the UK and Ireland to stream previously aired BBC series such as Doctor Who to TVs, tablets, game consoles, computers and mobile phones.

Netflix currently has more than 20 million members in the US, Canada and Latin America with BBC streaming privileges.

The deal, which comes after Netflix’s recent launch of its Just For Kids experience, continues BBC WorldWide’s global expansion.
