Wingin’ It wins 2011 Shaw Rocket Prize

Toronto, Canada-based Temple Street Productions has earned its wings by winning the 2011 US$50,000 Shaw Rocket Prize for its half-hour children's sitcom, Wingin' It.

Toronto, Canada-based Temple Street Productions has earned its wings by winning the 2011 US$50,000 Shaw Rocket Prize for its half-hour children’s sitcom, Wingin’ It.

The show, which is distributed internationally by BBC Worldwide and airs on the Family Channel and Disney XD Canada, was chosen by a jury of kids. It’s produced by Ivan Schneeberg, David Fortier and Frank van Keeken and focuses on the misadventures of high school kids Carl (Dylan Everett) and Porter (Demetrius Joyette).

The other finalists for the prize, which was handed out by Canada’s Shaw Rocket Fund last night, were dirtgirlworld, My Babysitter’s a Vampire – The Movie, Survive This and Wibbly Pig.
