Netflix has made its Just for Kids section, which launched in August, available to its US members via the Nintendo Wii console.

Housed within the Netflix app on the Wii, the content is aimed at kids 12 and under and includes TV shows and movies. Popular characters like Elmo and Phineas and Ferb, for instance, are used on the platform to represent the shows and films in which they star.

The extension to the Wii platform comes as roughly half of the more than 20 million Netflix accounts have been used to watch at least two titles made for kids in the last three months. The Netflix Just for Kids section is already available in the US on PCs Macs. Similar functionality is expected to reach other devices over the next year.
