Canada’s 9 Story Entertainment has bought a 50% interest in plush toy manufacturer The Monster Factory in a move that will expand the production company’s consumer products licensing business.

9 Story Entertainment, which creates, produces and distributes animated and live-action content for young audiences, has been steadily expanding its licensing business, most recently with their Almost Naked Animals animated series.

Launched in 2007, The Monster Factory’s plush monsters, all of which come with unique names and storylines, have developed a loyal cult following among kids and parents. The plush characters – and there are more than 100 of them – can now expect to expand to new platforms as a result of the partnership.
