Annoying Orange slices another licensing deal

Following news of its first toy deal, The Annoying Orange is headed for US amusement parks thanks to a new licensing toy deal with NANCO.
The deal was brokered on behalf of The Collective by The Joester Loria Group and will see a line of plush toys based on the YouTube sensation. The toys will come with sound chips featuring puns and sayings taken straight from the show. The initial product launch will be followed up by full-size Annoying Orange basketballs and additional line expansions including Pear, Midget Apple, Marshmallow, Grandpa Lemon and Passion Fruit.
Created by Dane Boedigheimer, The Annoying Orange features an endearingly annoying and highly entertaining Orange that playfully heckles other fruits, vegetables or nearby objects with puns and jokes. The brand’s YouTube channel has racked up more than 850 million total views.
To date, a master toy deal has been cut with The Bridge Direct for a collection of talking plush, clip-ons and collectible figures available at specialty retailers including Toys ‘R’ Us. Annoying Orange apparel and accessories for young men and juniors from Hybrid Apparel and Accessory Innovations will also begin rolling out this month through spring 2012.
