India is on the radar for Saban

Power Rangers-owner Saban Brands has named Dream Theatre the exclusive licensing agent in India for the property. Additionally, MarVista Entertainment, the global television distributor for Power Rangers, has licensed the broadcast rights for India to Nickelodeon India.

Power Rangers-owner Saban Brands has named Dream Theatre the exclusive licensing agent in India for the property.  Additionally, MarVista Entertainment, the global television distributor for Power Rangers, has licensed the broadcast rights for India to Nickelodeon India.

Dream Theatre joins an existing global roster of Power Rangers Samurai agents that represent more than 100 licensees worldwide.  The company will launch apparel, stationery, bags and luggage and back-to-school products that will be available in leading chain stores and kids and toy stores across India.

In the broadcast arena, all 700 episodes of Power RangersClassic Power Rangers and Power Rangers Samurai—has been licensed to Nickelodeon India. The channel is currently available in more than 34.2 million households in Hindi language, with the option of English, Tamil and Telugu audio feed on DTH.

Saban says that it views India as a significant market and looks to extend the boy-skewing brand’s presence in the region.
