Puss in Boots hits theaters, mobile devices

Paramount-DreamWorks’ Puss in Boots may be hitting theaters today but the swashbuckling feline is also making his way onto iOS devices thanks to a new iStoryTime enhanced book app.

The Puss in Boots storybook for iPhone and iPad, available for US$2.99 in the App Store, features in-story activities as well as images and audio from the movie. The app highlights scenes from the 3D film, which chronicles the events leading up to the sword-fighting cat’s meeting with Shrek and his friends. The app will feature real voiceovers from cast, which includes Antonio Banderas, Salma Hayek and Zach Galifianakis.

This isn’t the first time zuuka, which publishes the iStoryTime children’s book library, has seen success from an app based on a DreamWorks blockbuster. This year’s Kung Fu Panda 2 storybook app has been a bestseller for the company.
