Fox-owned BabyTV, the 24/7 commercial-free channel targeted at babies and toddlers, is poised to grow its consumer products business in Latin America through Fox Licensing & Merchandising.

The new business unit, launched by Fox Latin American Channels (FLAC), will be overseeing the execution of BabyTV’s international consumer products and retail strategy across the continent.

Building on BabyTV’s existing licensing partnerships with Ansaldo S.A. and Partyexpress Chile S.A. and with licensing agent P&L Global, Fox Licensing & Merchandising will manage the brands’ expansion across home video, toys, publishing and other product categories relevant for infants and toddlers and will facilitate alliances with retailers within the territory. A first round of products including a range of baby toys is set to reach stores in Q2 2012.

Additionally, BabyTV has signed up Character Mix as its new licensing agent for Argentina and Uruguay.
