Teletoon and FME sign Grojband
Following Friday’s news of FremantleMedia Enterprise’s partnership with Animation Collective for new children’s and teen content, the company’s kids and family entertainment division has snapped up the rights to the brand-new Teletoon original production Grojband.
Toronto, Canada-based Fresh TV has received the green light from Teletoon on the animated musical comedy series, which is aimed at kids ages six to 11. The show follows 12-year-old Corey and his three best friends as they struggle to rocket their garage band to international stardom.
FME will serve as the worldwide distributor for television, brand licensing, home entertainment rights and other ancillary rights (excluding Canada) for the series.
Grojband marks FME’s third new series, and its first animated series, in less than two years with Fresh TV.
