Shaftesbury, through its digital media division Smokebomb Entertainment, has launched its first original mobile app TV series, Totally Amp’d, at this year’s MIPCOM.

Targeting tweens and teens and starring Ashley Leggat (Life with Derek), Totally Amp’d combines a live-action comedy series (nine x seven minutes) with interactive, music-based activities. The app, which is designed for smartphone and tablet devices by XMG Studio, will be available next month via iTunes.

Aside from viewing, mobile users will be to immerse themselves in the storyline through creating their own original songs from the series, as well as designing outfits, posters, album covers and logos in a coinciding Design Studio. There’s also a Movie Studio feature that allows users to direct their own music videos using songs from the series.

The series will also be offered to buyers as a standalone property for other platforms at MIPCOM, which is well underway in Cannes, France.
