Gilt forges retail deals with Nickelodeon, Facebook

New York -based online retailer Gilt Groupe has launched a Facebook store and its children's division is kicking the move off with a SpongeBob promotion.

New York -based online retailer Gilt Groupe has launched a Facebook store and its children’s division is kicking the move off with a SpongeBob promotion.

The online store will offer products and partnerships that will be unique to Facebook and allow users to shop select sales in advance of their availability on Gilt’s website. The store will showcase a sale for each of the online store’s sales categories, rotating weekly.

Gilt Children is also launching a new partnership with Nickelodeon by offering a SpongeBob SquarePants line of products on Gilt Children’s Facebook page prior to launching on Gilt. The “We Love: SpongeBob” sale will include SpongeBob SquarePants apparel, bedding, furniture and more. Additionally, Nickelodeon and Lego are offering collectible 1.5-feet-tall SpongeBob SquarePants Lego models. All proceeds from sales of the models will benefit United Way Worldwide, a partner of Nickelodeon’s The Big Help campaign to engage kids to take action on issues important to them.

To further enhance the Nickelodeon sale, Gilt Children’s Facebook page is giving away 10 exclusive SpongeBob SquarePants ukuleles signed by Tom Kenny, the voice behind SpongeBob.
