More money, more executive changes at MarVista

With a new capital investment in hand, indie producer/distributor MarVista Entertainment will look to build upon its current level of production and accelerate acquisitions while bidding farewell to founding partner and president Michael D. Jacobs.

Jacobs (pictured) is resigning his position at the end of the year to pursue other interests, but will continue to serve as a consultant for the company, which currently distributes a catalog of more than 2,000 hours of feature films and TV programming.

Robyn Snyder, who has been promoted to the newly created post of EVP of production, is taking the reins of production operations. The promotion expands Snyder’s previous role as SVP of development and production and gives her oversight responsibility for all aspects of MarVista’s original programming, including series and feature films.

Snyder’s expanding team is joined by the appointment of Sharon Bordas, previously a production consultant for the company, who will now serve as VP of development and production.

The new investment round was led by Brian N. Sheth, president and co-founder of Vista Equity Partners.
